Jo Vertigan is Managing Director of Obidos Consulting, a digital and mobile strategy consultancy with clients across a wide range of sectors including fashion, technology and sport. He is currently working with The Jockey Club, a number of startups running in stealth mode and joins Idea Transform both as a mentor as well as part of the organising committee.
Outside his day to day roles he is also non-executive director of both ipatter.com and Fashion 156.com, has judged the digital categories for the Sports Industry awards for the last 3 years and moderates for Econsultancy’s annual Digital Cream event.
In March 2009 he was invited to join England’s bid team for the 2018 FIFA World cup as Head of Digital, where he was responsible for creating and implementing the global digital/mobile strategy for bid.
Prior to this Jo worked in a number of senior management roles at Sony Electronics; running the Ecommerce operations for UK and Ireland, building businesses with Amazon, Lovefilm and Photobox. He also developed the digital launch plans behind products such as the Sony Reader and VAIO by you. In the distant past he worked in a number of management roles at Whitbread, Coca-Cola Enterprises and Pillsbury.
